What this program is, and what it isn’t.
What it is
A structured CBT skills group for adults experiencing anxiety, excessive worry and avoidance. Sessions combine teaching, discussion and practice, with tasks to apply between sessions.
Clinical Psychologist Sarah Jacob leads the program throughout the eight weeks, with the same small cohort each week.
What it isn’t
The program does not include individual therapy, crisis or after-hours contact.
You can continue seeing your existing psychologist alongside the group.

MEDICARE AND REFERRALS

Medicare rebates may be available to eligible participants with an appropriate referral. Ask our team to confirm the applicable item, rebate and referral requirements for this 2-hour program before booking. Read our Medicare guide for anxiety groups.
Speak with your GP about a referral for group psychological therapy and any required treatment plan. Medicare eligibility is separate from suitability for the group.
Benefits depend on individual eligibility, the service provided and the Medicare rules at the time of each session. Claims apply only to eligible attended sessions.

Can I keep seeing my existing psychologist?
Yes. Individual care can continue alongside the group. Individual therapy is not included in the program.
How many people are in the group?
There are no more than 10 participants, with the same cohort attending across the eight weeks.
Do I need a referral to enquire?
You may register directly and complete the free screening. To claim a Medicare benefit, an appropriate referral and individual eligibility are required. Ask our team to confirm the requirements and applicable rebate before booking.
What if I miss a session?
Contact the team to discuss attendance, payment and cancellation terms before booking. A Medicare benefit cannot be claimed for a session you do not attend.
What is CBT group therapy for anxiety?
This structured group teaches cognitive behavioural therapy skills for understanding anxiety, recognising anxious thinking, reducing avoidance and gradually facing feared situations. Sessions combine teaching, discussion and practice, with tasks between sessions.
Is this an anxiety support group or a structured therapy program?
The Managing Anxiety Group Program is a defined eight-week CBT skills program led by Clinical Psychologist Sarah Jacob. It is a closed group, with the same cohort each week, rather than a drop-in peer support group.
Where in Sydney is the anxiety group held?
Sessions are held at Logic Lounge Psychology, Suite 1.01/32 Delhi Road, Macquarie Park NSW 2113, approximately five minutes on foot from North Ryde Metro. This is an in-person program.
How much does the anxiety program cost?
The full eight-week program costs $1,600 per participant, equivalent to $200 per 2-hour session. The suitability screening call is free. Ask the team to confirm any applicable Medicare rebate before booking.
Do I need a formal anxiety diagnosis?
No formal diagnosis is required to register. Suitability is determined during screening. Medicare eligibility has separate requirements.
Will I have to share my personal history?
Personal disclosure is minimal. The sessions focus on skills teaching, discussion and practice.
